Our Team
Malvern Day Nursery is proud to present a genuine team of dedicated early childhood professionals
The Staff
At Malvern Day Nursery, we are a small, welcoming and family-focused centre, with a maximum capacity of just 29 children. This allows us to foster close, respectful relationships and create a strong sense of community for children, families, and educators alike.
Our team consists of dedicated and qualified early childhood professionals who work collaboratively and share a genuine commitment to the wellbeing, learning, and development of every child. Many of our educators have been part of the MDN community for over 10 years, with some contributing their experience and passion for significantly longer. This continuity provides children and families with stability, familiarity, and trusted relationships.
We strictly maintain staff-to-child ratios at all times in accordance with the requirements set out by the Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA), ensuring children receive attentive, responsive, and high-quality care.
To support continuity of care, the centre employs regular relief educators who are familiar to the children, families, and daily routines of the service. This ensures consistency in relationships and learning experiences, even during staff absences.
Our educators take great pride in delivering high-quality, child-centred care, working as a cohesive team with a holistic focus on each child’s wellbeing, safety, and development. Through shared values, professionalism, and a strong sense of belonging, our team creates a nurturing environment where children can thrive.

Fluffy The Chicken

In 2009 Malvern Day Nursery hired an incubator with some eggs in it.
We feel privileged to have our chicken stay with us, and over time it seems she thinks she's human. As she has grown with us, she has a very personable and patient nature, and is very kind and accustomed to being handled by the children.

Fluffy offers the children the general sense of warmth and comfort that comes from sharing experiences with an animal, while allowing the children to adopt the responsibility of caring for her.
