Our Community

At Malvern Day Nursery we connect and establish lasting relationships not only with the child throughout the day, but with their whole family. Through this, we have events outside of care hours such as Family Fun Days, Social Nights and Christmas concerts. These are a wonderful opportunity for the children to socialise and share the relationships they have made together with their own families.

Rainbow Trail for COVID-19

March/April 2020

MDN has participated in the Rainbow Trail movement. It is a creative and artistic campaign aimed to help children spread joy during these difficult times.

We are so proud of how we have adjusted to COVID-19 practices, implementing social distancing cautions and working with families to adopt the new childcare package.

This year we held our very first Kids Market. This was a wonderful event open to the public where we sold kids clothes, books, toys and the like. We could not have made this event happen without the support of AUV Real Estate and our parents and broader community.

Space and NASA Incursion

We were thrilled to have an employee of NASA come in to the centre to share his passion with the children. We learnt about space, were shown images from satellites and were able to further our astronomic curiosity of our planet earth.

Local Matters -Grill'd Malvern

September 2017

For the month of September we have been selected to participate in Local Matters Grill'd Malvern!

Local Matters is the Grill'd community donation program that sees the restaurant donate $500 back into the community every month.

MDN is hoping to receive the highest donation of $300, to put towards funding a hands-on and interactive incursion for the children.

'Backyard Bugs' Incursion

We were so pleased to have Museum Victoria's Backyard Bugs outreach program at our center. The program encouraged the children to learn about the many fascinating creatures to be found in backyards, parks and gardens. Through story and activities the children learnt how to identify bugs, how they benefit their environment and the incredible things bugs can do. This is one of various incursions we have throughout the year.

Annual Easter Egg Hunt

We were very excited to have our Easter Egg hunt, and even got a special visit from the Easter Bunny himself! We laughed and shared the eggs we found with all our friends and got excited for the Easter long-weekend.

Grandparents and Special Friends Day

We relish every opportunity to celebrate family, and Grandparents and Special Friends Day is a wonderful opportunity for the children to demonstrate with pride their achievements. It is also an excellent opportunity for the grandparents to meet the careers and take a sneak peak into the daily life of Malvern Day Nursery. We love being visited by our favourite magician, Luigi Zucchini!
